The Gala

The "Any Swing Goes" gala at the Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage was beautifully orchestrated - from the smart black, white and red color scheme (red roses tucked into black and white spats as centerpieces) to the fabulous music of the Zoot Suit Revue.

Wearing read and green lame zoot suits with feathers in their fedoras, the L.A.-based group powered the night with great swing renditions of "Minnie the Moocher" and other songs from the '40s. Bass, trumpet, sax and electric guitar proved a savvy combination.
